Actor James Woods says his home in Pacific Palisades survived the Los Angeles wildfires that devastated much of his neighborhood.
“A miracle happened,” Woods posted on X on Friday. “We managed to get to our property and our house is still standing, even though we were told it was gone forever.”
Woods added: “While ‘standing’ is relative in this hellish landscape, smoke and other damage are not the same as the complete destruction around us.”
Earlier this week, Woods was one of hundreds of thousands of people forced to evacuate around Los Angeles as fires spread and intensified. He posted regular updates to
“So many beautiful messages from all of you,” he posted late Friday. “I’m so happy and grateful, but honestly speaking, this entire area feels like the dark side of the moon.”
Numerous celebrities, from Paris Hilton to Billy Crystal, have confirmed that they lost or damaged their homes as fires burned in and around Los Angeles. At least 10 people were killed and thousands of structures and vehicles were destroyed.
