But while Fico’s trip was primarily business, the group of Slovak lawmakers got to admire Moscow’s architecture, attend a play and browse Russian supermarkets, proving that stories about missing basic food supplies were (totally and utterly!) false.
Their positive outlook reflected another recent, controversial visit to Russia. It was a pleasant visit to Moscow by conservative expert Tucker Carlson in February 2024.
Tucker Carlson enjoyed dining with President Putin so much that he went to Moscow again in December, this time to interview Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
