Darren Cave says Cormac Izuchukwu could make his mark in international rugby after the uncapped Ulster forward was included in the Ireland squad for the four-match autumn series.
Andy Farrell has named a 35-strong group for November’s matches in Dublin against New Zealand, Argentina, Fiji and Australia.
Izuchukwu, a versatile player who can play in the second and back row, has been a standout this year.
The 24-year-old missed Ireland’s summer tour of South Africa but played for Emerging Ireland earlier this month.
“The good thing about the November series is that there are four games and the opportunity to rotate,” said former Ireland and Ulster center Cave.
“I fully expect Cormac to be capped and he has the profile of a player who can certainly excel in international rugby.”
