In just over a month, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will be released on Xbox and PC, with the PS5 version scheduled for release in 2025. A ton of new previews and interviews have been posted, giving us a ton of information, including what we can tell you. I’m looking forward to it in terms of performance.
Speaking with Windows Central’s Jez Corden, creative director Axel Torvenius was asked how the game will perform on Xbox Series S and Series X. In particular, Corden wanted to see how the Series S would handle Indy’s new adventures. Both machines will apparently “run smoothly at 60,” so that’s good news.
“Once we see all the telemetry about the performance, we might reveal more details in terms of details, technical details, as we get closer to launch.” Torbenius said. “But what I can tell you is that the ambition is for the game to run at 60FPS on Xbox Series “Both should feel cohesive and run smoothly at 60.”
Of course, this leaves a lot of questions as to how Machine Games can get 60FPS on the weak Series S. The game will probably take a pretty significant hit on the visual side to hit 60 frames. There may also be a separate visual mode that lowers the FPS to 30 in exchange for more beautiful graphics.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle launches on Xbox and PC on December 9, and will be available to Game Pass Ultimate subscribers from day one. The PS5 launch will follow in 2025.
