India is one of the largest contributors of uniformed personnel to UN peacekeeping operations.
Currently, approximately 6,000 military and police personnel are deployed to UN operations in Abyei, Central African Republic, Cyprus, Democratic Republic of Congo, Lebanon, the Middle East, Somalia, South Sudan and Western Sahara.
