India got off to a stellar start with a comfortable 42-37 win over Nepal in the inaugural Coco World Cup at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in New Delhi on Monday. India’s all-round performance, led by captain Pratik Waikar, capped off a great day of Kho Kho action, providing the perfect platform for the team. India’s bright start defined the match as they finished off Nepal’s first three defenders in just 60 seconds in the first turn. Led by brilliant flying jumps from Pratik Waikar and Ramji Kashyap, India were leading by a whopping 14 points with three minutes remaining in the first turn. Dismissed two batches of Nepali defenders.
Sachin Bhargo, who replaced Pratik Waikar as ‘Wazir’, was the man of the night. He produced a spectacular skydive to score on 24 touch points on the break, preventing the Nepalese team from achieving a ‘dream run’.
