Pakistan batsman Azam Khan was cruelly trolled on social media after he was dismissed for a golden duck during the 2024 T20 World Cup match against USA on Wednesday. Azam has struggled to score runs for quite some time and even in the T20I series against England, he received a lot of criticism from fans and pundits alike for numerous low scores and fielding errors. In Pakistan’s opening match of the T20 World Cup, Azam came out to bat with his team under pressure and was caught LBW by Nosthush Kenjige on the first delivery. Social media users criticized his appearance and even mentioned the ‘nepotism’ controversy surrounding him as he is the son of former Pakistan captain Moin Khan.

The United States has made a great start to the ongoing 2024 T20 World Cup after a seven-wicket win over Canada in the tournament opener. Currently, the United States is in second place in Group A of the 2024 T20 World Cup with two points.

USA skipper Monank Patel said he wants to ensure that they play their best cricket.
“I will bowl first. We have been playing on the same surface and on this surface it is easier to chase and it is better to know the target. It was a really good performance and I want to keep the momentum going. It is a new challenge and we can play our best cricket. I want to be there,” Monank said.
Pakistan captain Babar Azam revealed that Imad Wasim is injured and they will play with four pacers against the United States. “We would have bowled first as well. It’s a morning game and the pitch is clean so we expect to get some runs on the board. It’s good to see the sun coming out. We haven’t seen sunlight for the last three or four days. He (Imad) is injured, but we will field four fast bowlers to make up for the loss,” Babar said.
