Cardi B demolished Donald Trump’s pledge to protect women “whether they like it or not” in energetic remarks at a rally for Kamala Harris on Friday.
“If his definition of protection is not freedom of choice, if his definition of protection is ensuring that our daughters have fewer rights than their mothers, then I don’t want that.” the Grammy Award-winning rapper said before singing. ‘I don’t want it,’ he said amid cheers at a campaign event in West Allis, Wisconsin.
Cardi endorsed the vice president last year after President Joe Biden criticized him for supporting foreign military aid to Ukraine and Israel, and anticipated proposed $120 million budget cuts for schools in his home city of New York City. It is done.
The rapper, who supported Biden’s 2020 campaign and supported Sen. Bernie Sanders (D-Vt.) over the past few years, declared at the time that he would never support a presidential candidate again.
On Friday, she gave a “genuine” response to the Wisconsin crowd and announced she would not vote in this year’s election.
“But when Kamala Harris joined the race, I completely changed my mind,” Cardi said.
“I had no faith in any candidate until she entered the race and said what I wanted to hear and what I wanted to see in this country next.”
Elsewhere in her speech, Cardi described Trump as a “crook.”
“But taking away women’s rights to their bodies is a terrible thing.” said the GOP candidate’s rapper, who praised the justices for their “heart and strength” in overturning Roe v. Wade.
“They are taking Americans out of their hard-earned money by selling Trump watches, Trump sneakers and Trump Bibles, and those watches cost $100,000. Yes, yes, even from China, another country he has disgraced.”
