Céline Dion is ready to open up about the challenges she faces living with spasticity syndrome (SPS), as seen in the trailer for her upcoming documentary. I am: Celine Dion.
in trailerThe Quebec chanteuse shared emotionally by Amazon MGM Studios on Thursday about how a rare disease has affected her life.
“I was diagnosed with a very rare neurological disorder and I wasn’t ready to say anything before,” she said in the video. “But I’m ready now.”
“I look at my life and I love every part of it. “If a woman likes her shoes, she always makes them fit her,” she says. “Performing is not difficult. It’s difficult to cancel a performance. I work hard every day. But I must admit it was hard work. “I miss you so much.”
The documentary will explore her struggle to get back on stage and do what she loves most: sing.
The film, which follows Dion’s daily life, is “a personal exploration of perseverance, inner strength, everyday battles and sacrifice. “It is a celebration of the incredible will of the human spirit to keep going even when the only sense of self they have ever known is gone.”

“The past two years have been a journey, from discovering my condition to learning how to tolerate and manage it, but not letting it define me,” Dion said in a statement announcing the film.
He continued, “In the process of resuming my acting career, I realized how much I missed the opportunity to meet my fans. During this period of absence, I decided I wanted to document this part of my life to help others who share this diagnosis.”
Dion has largely withdrawn from the public eye since announcing her diagnosis in late 2022, shortly after she postponed several European tour dates.
However, she gave fans a big surprise when she appeared on the Grammy Awards stage in February to present the Album of the Year award. She has also made several appearances at NHL games in recent months, sharing locker room visits with various teams visiting Las Vegas.
Researchers suspect that SPS may be the result of an autoimmune response in which the body attacks nerve cells in the central nervous system that control muscle movement. There is no known cure.
The most common symptoms are muscle stiffness, stiffness, and cramps in the muscles of the trunk, including the back and extremities.
