As you progress through the main story of Once Human, you will discover Rift Anchors, which are required to follow the quest path.
However, many players are left confused when they come across this and realize that it is still inaccessible.

Explain why humans cannot access the crack anchor
If you’ve come across a lift anchor while traveling and are wondering why you can’t use it, there are a few prerequisites for using a lift anchor.
Rift Anchors are specifically tied to the main story, requiring you to complete the main quest/task in a specific area with only the Monolith boss remaining to unlock the ability to use the Rift Anchor.
Once you’ve completed the number of main quests required to access a Rift Anchor in that area, the Rift Anchor will display a bright purple beam of light, indicating that it’s safe to use.
One thing to note here is that if you can’t use the Rift Anchor in the area you want to go to, you may not have been able to defeat the Monolith Boss in the previous area, which also required access to the Rift Anchor to defeat the Monolith Boss.
Basically, if you played through the main story, you won’t get a message saying you can’t access the Rift Anchor because you did everything in the correct order.
