One of the most easily customizable items in Minecraft is the banner, which you can change the color and pattern to your liking. Banners are also used in a number of different recipes, so knowing how to make a banner will be very useful as you progress. Check out our guide below to learn how to make a banner in Minecraft.
How to make a banner in Minecraft
Crafting a banner only requires two main ingredients, but you’ll need different ones depending on what color you want your banner to be. Also, since you’ll need more than one of each ingredient, you might not be able to craft too many banners at once. You can find the full banner crafting recipe below.
- Place six colored wool blocks in the top two rows on the crafting table.
- Then, stick one stick into the bottom center box to create a banner that matches the color of the wool on the table.
Obviously, the biggest obstacle to crafting a banner in Minecraft is getting the required amount of wool blocks. However, to make things easier, you can kill sheep to get 6 regular wool blocks, which you can then dye to any color you want. We looked at how to make dyes in a previous guide, but you need to have specific ingredients that match the color of the dye you want to make. You can take the dye to a crafting table, dye a wool block, and use the wool block to create a colored banner.
If you want to make a white banner to add a different color to your banner, you can use bleach on the banner at the crafting table. This will also remove any patterns you have placed on the banner. However, this feature is only available in Bedrock Edition.
