SameA new team-based hero shooter with a mix of Guardians of the Galaxy and Overwatch elements will be available to play this weekend as part of the game’s Early Access Beta. PlayStation Plus subscribers can participate in the Early Access Beta on PlayStation 5 and Windows PC without having to pre-order the game.
Previously Sony Same The Beta Early Access weekend on PS5 and PC was limited to pre-orders only, but Sony Interactive Entertainment and developer Firewalk Studios sweetened the deal by inviting all PS Plus members to play this weekend. Pre-load the PS5 version Same The beta is now live, launching on Friday, July 12th at 10am PDT and running through Sunday, July 14th.
The second beta test, open to all PS5 and PC players, will run from July 18th to 21st.
that much Same– Anyone who pre-orders the game will receive an early access code, plus four additional codes for their friends. Same It’s a 5v5 first-person shooter, so it’s big enough to have a full team.
SameThe Beta Early Access Weekend includes three modes:
- Described as a “respawn-based mode where you fight to earn points for your team by taking down opposing crew members and collecting bounty cards,” Trophy Hunt is essentially a confirmed kill.
- Cargo Run is a game where players compete to retrieve packages, plant them in specific areas, and defend them from the enemy team without having to respawn.
- Clash Point is a round-based game mode where teams fight to control a capture zone located in the center of the map.
Same‘s Open Beta weekend will feature a fourth mode, Territory Domination, where teams compete to control and defend multiple capture points.
Sony and Firewalk have revealed the first gameplay. Same — and a colorful cast of alien and robot characters known as Freegunners — at the State of Play showcase in May. PlayStation fans were introduced to the cast of heroes and eccentrics (Haymar, Vale, Lennox, 1-0FF, Star Child, It-Z, Teo, Bazz, and more) and the game’s snarky sense of humor at the event. The developer also confirmed the release date. Same The showcase will take place on August 23rd on PS5 and PC. Same The price is $39.99.
