A major new free title update for Hogwarts Legacy has arrived on PC and consoles, bringing with it new features, bug fixes, items, and some quality-of-life improvements. This patch also includes some PC-specific fixes and updates, so let’s take a look at what’s in store for the 55GB Hogwarts Legacy update on Steam.
Hogwarts Legacy June 6th Patch
For starters, previously exclusive PlayStation content is now available on all platforms. This includes Haunted Shop missions as well as some cosmetics and items only available on PlayStation consoles.
Photo Mode is another major addition, and includes many of the features we’ve come to expect, such as filters, lens adjustments, poses, post-processing effects, and more. You can also reset your talent points without starting a new playthrough.
In addition to a significant amount of bug fixes, there are also PC-specific additions. Now that DLSS has been updated to its latest version, 3.7, you no longer need to manually replace DLL files. XeSS has also been updated to the latest version 1.3. However, FSR is still at version 2. This is a shame, because image quality has improved significantly with FSR 3.
When using DLSS and XeSS, you will see a clear improvement in image quality and performance. We’ve also improved ray tracing by fixing some lighting bugs and cleaning up some bad translucent meshes in BVH. Feel free to read the full patch notes on Steam.
Overall, it’s good to see the game receiving some form of support, as the last patch came out over a year ago in June 2023. If you’ve been waiting to try out the title, now is a pretty good time to do so. It’s currently available on all platforms, but only the deluxe edition is available on Xbox and Nintendo Switch.
