The long-awaited addition to the Hellboy franchise, Hellboy: The Crooked Man It promised to breathe new life into Mike Mignola’s iconic character, and not only did it deliver something different, it captured the comic books as best as possible. The film had a different tone to the other Hellboy films in terms of atmosphere, being a darker, more horror-driven adaptation. .

Hellboy: The Crooked Man examine
Now that we’ve covered the amazing experience we had with Premiere, Hellboy: The Crooked ManIn Crooked Man, Jack Kesey It stars Hellboy and his partner as the beloved BPRD agent. Bobby Jo Song (played by Adeline Rudolph)’s adventures in the 1950s. After a train accident involving a very large spider leaves them stranded in a small Appalachian community, the duo encounters a demonic figure connected to the local witch’s dilemma. The enigmatic Crooked Man has a mysterious link to Hellboy’s past as he struggles to find his way home.
I liked Hellboy: The Crooked Man despite its flaws. I’m looking forward to the next installment because I’m a huge fan of comic books. It was a great experience to see Hellboy deal with many issues in a “quiet” Appalachian community, and I’d love to see this character stand up to injustice in different times and places.
There are still plenty of thrilling fights, but they mostly feature surreal dialogue rich in horror elements rather than the traditional action scenes we’re used to. That said, there are a few standout battles. I especially enjoyed the intense sequences involving undead people and the sacred shovel. Although those moments are rare overall, it captures most of what Hellboy is, and if you like the comics, you’ll enjoy many aspects of this film.
