Senator Elizabeth Warren, a Democrat from Massachusetts, disparaged President Trump’s nomination for Secretary of Defense.
She dismissed Pete Hegseth as just a weekend talk show host and said he was unqualified to lead the Pentagon.
“The Fox & Friends weekend co-host is not qualified to be Secretary of Defense,” Senator Warren wrote to X. “All three of my brothers served in uniform. I respect each and every one of our soldiers. “Donald Trump’s choice will make us less safe and must be rejected.”
Appearing on ABC’s The View, Whoppi Goldberg said Hegseth “obviously knows nothing about the military.”
Now, let’s analyze the left’s argument. But full disclosure, Pete is my friend.
It’s true that Hegseth is the longtime co-host of the weekend edition of Fox & Friends. It is the number one morning program on cable TV.
But that’s not why President-elect Trump chose Pete.
He is a military veteran who served as an infantry officer in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Guantanamo Bay. When he returned to the United States, he spearheaded efforts to help veterans. I care about America’s veterans.

Pete is also an Ivy League graduate and holds degrees from Princeton and Harvard. Not to mention that he wrote a New York Times bestseller.
married. Father of seven children. The 44-year-old’s resume isn’t bad.
So why are the girls on The View and the guys at MSNBC and CNN foaming at the mouth?
Well, it turns out Hegseth believes the military should be about blowing things up and killing the enemy. It’s not about staging a drag show about a nuclear submarine and providing a safe space for soldiers who are confused about their pronouns.
Hegseth also has a firm belief that women should not serve in combat roles. And you can expect Hegseth to declare war on the awakened generals.
“We have to fire him first. We have to fire the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff,” he said on the “Sean Ryan Show” podcast last week. “Every general, general, admiral, whatever is involved in the DEI awakening must disappear.”
In his book ‘War on Warriors’, Hegseth warned readers about left-wing ideology in the Pentagon.
“It’s one thing for a company or university to wake up. “It is quite another for American soldiers to wake up,” he wrote.
And he can count his bosses at Fox News Channel as his biggest fans.
“Pete Hegseth was an outstanding host. fox and friends and has been a best-selling author for Fox Nation and Fox News Books for nearly a decade,” the network wrote in a statement to Entertainment Tonight. “His insights and analysis, especially about the military, resonated deeply with viewers and made the program the huge success it is today. We are very proud of the work he has done at Fox News Media and wish him the best of luck in Washington.”
I wonder why Senator Warren, who has no military experience, thinks she has more expertise than a combat veteran who has received two Bronze Stars. It seems to me that Pocahontas is far from it on this issue.
