When it was announced last week that Harry Brook could be England captain, there were probably a few nods and a laugh. While Brook is clearly a talented batsman with exceptional talent, his leadership qualities are unproven and he carries with him all sorts of prejudices, such as class, accent and education, even in the 21st century.
I don’t know Brooke, but from what I’ve seen in interviews, the description ‘arrogant, arrogant Yorkshireman’ seems appropriate. But in my book, that’s not a bad thing. I get that impression too…
