A new poll shows Vice President Harris narrowly ahead of former President Trump in six key battleground states, while the candidates are tied in Georgia.
A Bloomberg News/Morning Consult poll released late Thursday found the Democratic candidate ahead of Trump in Nevada, Pennsylvania, Arizona, Michigan and Wisconsin.
Harris holds a 7-point lead over Trump in Nevada, 52% to 45%, and a 5-point lead in Pennsylvania, or 51% compared to the former president’s 46%. In Arizona and Michigan, polls show the vice president leading the Republican candidate by three points, 50 to 47 percent.
Her lead is even smaller in North Carolina, 50% to 48%, and in Wisconsin, 51% to 48%. The two White House contenders are tied in Georgia at 49% approval rating each, the survey found.
With the exception of Nevada and Pennsylvania, most results are within the poll’s margin of error.
With less than six weeks until Election Day, Harris holds an overall three-point lead over the former president among likely voters in all seven swing states. This brings Trump’s approval rating to 50%, compared to his 47% approval rating.
When a third-party presidential candidate was added, the vice president’s lead expanded to 4 percentage points. According to the poll, Libertarian Party candidate Chase Oliver had 2% and Green Party candidate Jill Stein had 1%.
According to a public opinion poll, in the cost of handling household goods, candidate Trump received 47% and candidate Harris received 46%, almost tied. Still, Harris had an 11-point lead over who voters said was likely to help the middle class.
On immigration, one of the most important topics for voters in the 2024 election, the Republican candidate still holds the lead, 14 points ahead of Harris, according to the survey. The Democratic candidate has a 24% margin on abortion, which is one of her biggest issues, a 56% to 32% margin, the survey found.
The poll also indicates that Harris has done more to introduce her policy positions to voters in battleground states, with 43% of likely voters in battleground states saying so. About 40% said the same thing about the Republican candidate.
Nationally, Harris leads Trump by 4.1%, 49.9% to 45.8%, according to the latest polling tally from The Hill/Decision Desk HQ.
The Bloomberg News/Morning Consult poll was conducted Sept. 19-25 among 6,165 registered voters in seven battleground states. The margin of error was 3 percentage points in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, and 4 percentage points in Nevada.
