Vice President Harris currently leads former President Trump in three of four key Sun Belt states, according to a Fox News poll released Wednesday evening.
Overall, Harris leads Trump by one point (48% to 47% approval) among all respondents in Arizona, Georgia, Nevada and North Carolina.
She also leads the Republican candidate by one point in Arizona (48% to 47%), by two points in Georgia (48% to 46%), and by two points in Nevada (48% to 46%).
President Trump leads North Carolina by 1 percentage point, with 48 percent support to Harris’s 47 percent.
All survey results are within the margin of sampling error.
A new poll shows a marked reversal in voter preference trends compared to polls conducted before Biden left office and Harris became the Democratic nominee.
A previous Fox News poll had Biden behind Trump in all four states.
Harris currently has 6 percentage points more support in Arizona than Biden did in the past, but in a June 2024 poll, Harris was 5 points behind Trump (46% to 41%).
She finished eight points ahead of Biden in Georgia. President Trump led Biden by six points in the April 2024 poll (51% approval, 45% approval).
Harris gained 7 points in Nevada, where Trump led Biden by 5 points in June polls (50% to 45%).
In North Carolina, where Trump still holds a slight lead over Harris, Harris still managed to narrow the gap to 4 points. In February 2024, Trump led Biden by 5 points in the state (50% to 45%).
The poll comes as Harris has been riding a wave of enthusiasm since she emerged as the Democratic nominee, a wave Democrats hope will continue throughout the election, especially in these crucial battleground states.
The Trump campaign responded to the recent data by slamming the Fox News poll as “horrible” and saying the organization “has a terrible track record.”
Hill reached out to Fox News for comment.
The new poll was conducted August 23-26, 2024, and surveyed 4,053 registered voters across four states. The overall margin of sampling error is 1.5 percentage points, and the margin for each state is 3 percentage points.
