morning.
On the last day of 2024, I looked out the window and the sky was dazzlingly pink. Is this a good sign? I don’t know. I am not a sky scholar.
All I know is that there is no news on Arsenal and I wanted to sleep because I drank too much red wine last night. Even though I was dreaming, I was on a terrible train ride to my destination where I could change trains and take another train home. It didn’t help that Madonna ruined everything by failing to park her car correctly, but it was a lot of hassle. On the train. i know.
So tomorrow we can preview the match against Brentford. Team news may come out a little later. Now I’d like to take a moment to say thank you to everyone who has been a part of Arseblog over the past 12 months. If you don’t read, listen, and support what we do on Patreon, we’re just yelling into the void. In essence, white space is not a big deal. You’ve never heard someone write a great song about how much they love a good old fashioned hollow.
Still, I sincerely thank you. From myself and the entire team. We have the unique privilege of being able to write and talk about Arsenal for a living, and we never take that for granted. We couldn’t do it without you, and we wouldn’t want to do it anyway. In 2024, I hope this team can achieve the success we all crave. My experience at Arsenal over the past few years has been truly enjoyable. I know there was frustration. It’s just part of the sport, but we’re so close to winning something that not long ago seemed a million miles away. It’s a great place to live no matter what happens.
Although we all want trophies and trophies, I think it is sometimes worth remembering that these are not the only way to measure the quality of a football team and its players/staff. But obviously those are the goals and I really hope that we can achieve them with this squad and this manager. Currently we are participating in four competitions and hope to go far in at least one of them. It would be incredible to see Arsenal win the title again. I wish this team durability, availability, full fitness, a little luck here and there, and some kind of great January arrival.
We wish you all health and happiness in 2025, wherever you are in the world. Take care of each other, take care of yourself, and we can all celebrate together in May (and beyond).
❤️
You can also join me for a few podcasts on Patreon in a moment. We’ll be wrapping up the Premier League fixtures at The 30 and then we’ll also have a Brentford preview pod afterwards.
There will be more here tomorrow. Have a great celebration later, and let’s talk again next year!
