The Haitian Bridge Alliance, a nonprofit advocacy group for fair and humane immigration policies, has filed a lawsuit against Donald Trump and Senator JD Vance, accusing them of causing chaos in Springfield, Ohio, by spreading racist and xenophobic white lies about Haitian immigrants kidnapping and eating people’s pets.
According to Chandra Law Firm, which represents HBA, the organization cited a state law that allows individuals to “file affidavits charging a crime.”
According to ABC 5 ClevelandThe indictment, filed in Clark County Municipal Court, reads:
- Public Service Disruption – Massive bombing and other threats in Springfield, Ohio, resulting in massive public service disruptions
- Creating a false alarm – Deliberately creating an alarm in the Springfield community by repeatedly repeating lies that state and local officials have said are false.
- Committing telecommunications harassment by spreading claims that you know are false during presidential debates, campaign rallies, nationally televised interviews, and on social media.
- Serious Threats When Violated – Making intentionally threatening statements with the intent to abuse, threaten, or harass a recipient, including Trump’s threat to deport immigrants who are legally in Venezuela, a land they have never known.
- Serious Threatening Act – Making others believe, falsely, that a member of the Haitian community in Springfield will cause serious physical harm to person or property of another person in Springfield;
- Violating the non-collusion clause – conspiring with one another and spreading malicious lies to incite innocent parties to participate in various crimes.
“Trump and Vance’s reckless and irresponsible false alarms have left Haitian communities fearful and public services disrupted. Trump and Vance must be held accountable under the rule of law. Anyone else who would have caused havoc in the way they did would have been arrested by now,” lead attorney Subodh Chandra said in a statement. “There is nothing special about Trump and Vance that makes them immune from punishment for what they have done and are doing. They think they are above the law. They are not.”
Now MAGA supporters are likely to start whining about the weaponization of the justice system against his inner circle, who spend their time wearing star-spangled Klan underwear and spreading propaganda about “witch hunts” and the MAGA messiah and immigrants. He’s not busy telling the world how much he hates childless women. But there’s no baseless accusation here.
Since Vance and Trump decided to ignore Springfield’s city planners, the Springfield Police Department, the city’s Republican mayor and the state’s Republican governor – WHO Residents have repeatedly said there is no evidence that Haitian immigrants are stealing and eating their pets, and they reported this to Vance and Trump before the former started spreading the rumor, and the latter insulted himself by repeating this on the debate stage. — There have been more than 30 bomb threats in Springfield, forcing the city’s schools and government buildings to be evacuated. Members of the Haitian community in and around Ohio have spoken publicly about living in fear for their safety since those who want to lead the country next year began spreading lies. According to Mayor Ron Lew, Springfield’s resources are being strained by the cost of keeping residents safe amid all the chaos.
Meanwhile, President Trump has reportedly scrapped plans to hold a campaign rally in Springfield, which the governor says is only good news.
From Newsweek:
President Trump said at a rally in Long Island on September 18 that he plans to visit Springfield within the next two weeks.
But two sources familiar with the matter said Trump is unlikely to visit the city in the near future.
Ohio Republican Gov. Mike DeWine warned that Trump’s visit would “strain” relations with the community and accused the former president of conducting “hurtful” investigations.
DeWine said any presidential candidate is welcome, but stressed that it would be “a burden on the community.”
In response to the allegations brought by HBA, “the nonprofit organization is requesting that the court find probable cause and issue an arrest warrant,” and “the court must hold a hearing before dismissing the affidavit as part of the due process.” ABC 5 It was reported.
What Vance and Trump have done and are doing is not just spreading misinformation, but in fact spreading hate speech.
