greedy people Gordon-Levitt’s unhinged performance is a whirlwind, but in a good way, solid showcase of a loud-mouthed corrupt cop as Terry catches me completely off guard. After a major accident occurs in the wealthy enclave of Chetlos, the ultimate question becomes money, more specifically, a million dollars. It’s a Fargoesque movie that leaves you wondering where the next twist will come from.
It’s often said that in a tight-knit community like Providence, everyone is interested in something, and as the film unfolds, many lessons are learned, and from one perspective Will (Himesh Patel) takes aim, greed has many facets. Yes. If you share the money because he’s expecting a baby and wants the best for his family, there are other people out there looking for your money despite being the “good guy” in the story, or so you tell yourself. A must-see movie in 2024!
Don’t kill anyone unless you absolutely have to.
Set in a charming island town rather than the snowy Midwest, this Fargo-inspired story features a variety of characters that are either the most charming, the unscrupulous, or the downright stupid. The complex plot unfolds as police officer Will (played by Himesh Patel) responds to an emergency call and almost shoots a woman (portrayed by Traci Lords, in a playful nod to the film’s irreverent nature) as she innocently cooks in the kitchen. It unfolds. She panics and confronts him, leading to a struggle that tragically culminates in her death.
Will’s partner Terry (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) convinces him to cover his tracks by pinning the murder on the robber. Especially after stumbling across a million dollars in the house and deciding to split it. But we learn that the woman’s husband (Tim Blake Nelson), a wealthy businessman, has already hired an assassin to kill her so he can marry his secretary (Nina Arianda). Naturally, he begins to suspect that he has been double-crossed, and from this point on, the film begins to take a different turn, with double-crossing, manipulation, and showing how far someone will go to protect their own interests.
It soon seems like everyone on the island is in on the plan, including Keith (played by Simon Rex), a shady massage therapist who offers questionable service. Will’s pregnant wife (Lily James) becomes increasingly suspicious of Terry after he “accidentally” runs over her beloved dog, but the film ultimately shows how the greedy decisions each person makes lead to a greater tragedy, and ultimately, the winner. shows that there is no . Well, the police chief (Uzo Aduba) is the only wise one who seems to have the best of everyone.
