Vice President Kamala Harris recently came under fire from Gold Star families for allegedly politicizing the events at Arlington National Cemetery on Monday as the Democratic presidential nominee.
The message was posted on former President Trump’s Instagram account. Eight videos, each featuring a soldier’s parent Killed by ISIS-K terrorists More than 10 million people have died since the US withdrew from Afghanistan on August 26, 2021.
The footage was released in response to a statement Harris issued Saturday in which the vice president criticized Trump for taking a photo at a wreath-laying ceremony Monday. The military said this week that Arlington National Cemetery officials were “suddenly pushed out” while interacting with Trump’s staff.

“Let me be clear, the former president disrespected a sacred site for political propaganda purposes,” she said, adding that she would “never politicize” such an incident.
Gold Star family members insisted that Trump did not take the photos for the campaign, but rather asked them to do so. In one video, Marine Corps Cpl. Jared Schmitz’s father called Harris’s posts “vile, vile, disgusting.”
“Why would Trump want to be there? It wasn’t to help his political campaign,” Mark Schmidt said in the video. “We wanted a leader. That’s why you and Joe didn’t get a call.”
Darren Hoover, father of Navy Chief Petty Officer Taylor Hoover, said Harris lacked “empathy and basic understanding” of Monday’s events and stressed that Trump’s appearance was polite.

“We invited President Trump to come and see the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier out of respect and reverence for all of our military members who are buried there,” he said. “We were the ones who asked to take videos and photos at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.”
Hoover also added that Trump has “helped us from the beginning,” and criticized Harris for “playing politics” in the case.
“You should be ashamed and embarrassed for your lack of empathy and decency as a human being,” the father added. “You are only doing this for power and prestige. You do not care about our troops or the citizens of this country.
