Ghost of Tsushima is publisher PlayStation’s fourth largest Steam release in terms of concurrent players.
According to figures from SteamDB, the game hit its peak concurrent player count of 59,244 since its launch on Thursday.
This total is only bettered by three games published by Sony, two of which were developed by in-house studios.
Helldivers 2, developed by third-party studio Arrowhead, has 458,709 concurrent players, ahead of God of War (73,529) and Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered (66,436).
Ghost of Tsushima’s maximum player count, which could increase by the end of the week, is already ahead of player counts set by games including Horizon Zero Dawn, Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition and The Last of Us Part I.
The top 10 most concurrent players currently achieved by PlayStation games on Steam are:
- Helldiver 2 (458,709)
- God of War (73,529)

Sony revealed earlier this week that Helldivers 2 sold 12 million copies in its first 12 weeks, making it the fastest-selling PS5 and PC game of all time.
