It’s time to play Baldur’s Gate 3 again.
that Baldur’s Gate 3 The story isn’t over yet. Larian Studio It has been confirmed that a major new update coming soon will introduce several new features to the game. According to a blog post on Steam, these features include special photo modes, new subclasses for each class, and cross-play for PC and consoles (even cross-progression across all platforms).
This is a pretty extensive list for a game that’s currently pushing its fourth year (including the Early Access period), but it shows just how committed Larian Studios is to improving and meeting player requests. Is Layered Photo Mode really necessary in your game? No, but it’s really nice to have.
As announced, Photo Mode is “like a photo booth where you can set up pretty much any photo you want.” By adjusting your camera line and composition, posing your character, and adjusting field of view, exposure, depth of field, and focus, you can take stunning photos that illuminate your hero’s journey.
Aside from the photo mode and cross-play, the other biggest change introduced in Larian Studios’ upcoming update is the ability to select new subclasses with unique skills as you advance your main squad. These include:
- Bard: College of Glamor – “As a College of Glamor Bards, you will have the power to heal your friends and command your enemies in equal measure.” These include the new spells Mantle of Inspiration and Mantle of Majesty.

- Monk: Drunken Master – “As a Drunken Master, you can not only consume alcohol directly from your inventory by adding brew to your homebrew, but you can also restore Ki by drinking alcohol from bottles found around the Sword Coast.” Introducing the Intoxication Strike and Sobering Realization skills.
- Ranger: Swarmkeeper – “The Swarmkeeper subclass provides Rangers with three types of lethal swarms to assist them in battle.” This introduces the Cloud of Jellyfish, Flurry of Moths, and Legion of Bees.
