Fortnite fans will have to wait for the servers to be down for hours before they can check out the new content coming as part of Chapter 6, Season 1.
fortnite Developer Epic Games is taking the game offline for the start of Chapter 6, Season 1. After 14 million players logged in to watch the season-ending Juice WRLD event, all eyes were on the new season of content.
Fortnite Chapter 6, Season 1 The release date is December 1st, but it won’t be available until the extended server downtime.
fortnite This will be taken down for maintenance at 3am UK time. If you’re in a hurry, log in before downtime begins to claim your free Juice WRLD item if you haven’t already.
The news was announced by Epic Games on X along with a preview of Chapter 6, Season 1.
“Get ready to hunt and slay demons!” reads the Epic tweet. “Downtime for v33.00 begins at 10 PM ET and matchmaking ends shortly before that.”
Fortnite (included lego fortnite, Creative, Battle Royale, fortnite festival, save the world and rocket racing) is expected to remain offline overnight.
Of course, there’s no official downtime schedule, so Fortnite could potentially remain offline for even longer, until noon. The server status website suggests it will run for 8 hours, meaning it should be back online by 11am.
The start of a new season means the download size of new updates will be larger than usual, so make sure you have enough space to install the patch.
When the game returns online, you’ll be able to enjoy new content, including new maps and tons of rewards through the Battle Pass.
As part of the new season, players will be able to battle giant bosses like Godzilla and Kong. There is also a Demon Arena with the best weapons and loot.
The Battle Pass skin includes Baymax from Big Hero 6 and also comes with a Samurai edit. Other samurai-style characters are also available in the Battle Pass.
Elsewhere, Epic Games will be showing off new movement techniques, including wall jumps and rolling when landing.
The release of the new chapter coincides with the launch of a streamlined rewards system that earns XP across all Fortnite modes.
Likewise, Fortnite Crew members will receive all Battle Passes for each mode as part of their subscription.
