GamesHub – 4.5 stars
Writing about GameshubReviewer Steph Panecasio said of the pure joy: Star Wars OutlawsCalling it “the most enjoyable game I’ve played all year,” Panecasio particularly praised the relationships between Trailblazer’s main crew and the game’s expansive world-building.
“It’s not perfect, but neither are the villains that the story relies on. Some people might see it as lacking in polish and feel it’s lacking, but I’m comfortable with it. Coming back to this world every day for the past week was something I wanted to do, not something I felt obligated to do in any way. It’s really impressive what Massive Entertainment has done,” Panecasio said.
“in The Empire Strikes BackHan Solo utters the iconic line, “Never tell me the odds.” In a year where we’ve all been waiting for a great game to come out, I think that, at least for now, no one is saying it out loud, Star Wars Outlaws “We overcame adversity.”
Eurogamer – 2 stars
At the other end of the spectrum, Eurogamer Review by Chris Tapsell was more negative. Star Wars Outlaws. He praised Kessel Sabacc and the game’s more mature themes, but criticized the “watered-down” open-world structure, relatively linear exploration, platforming, and speeder controls. Tapsell also questioned the limited nature of player choice and the repetitiveness of combat.
“Star Wars Outlaws… feels like it’s being robbed of its own, as Kay regularly gets caught by a much more worldly mob boss. The result is a series of comparisons that are quite painful. It’s branching and lacks overt secrecy. Arkham Game, System Options Dishonorable Or the sharp, relentlessly satisfying pace of picking off enemies. Assassin’s Creed” said Tapsell.
GadgetGuy – 4 stars
Writing about Gadget GuyReviewer Chris Button praised the game’s criminal setting and satisfying stealth elements, calling it “an enjoyable exercise in restraint and clear focus.” Unlike Tapsell, Button praised the lack of traditional open-world “bloat.” Star Wars OutlawsThe tightness of the mission and how Kay Bess’ lack of skills allowed her to show her character and her skill growth.
“Kay and Nix’s adventures may not be inherently smooth, but they are largely satisfying,” Button writes.Star Wars Outlaws It knows when to be loud and when to be quiet. In a franchise that favors grandeur, it’s an absolute joy to enjoy a deeply personal story supported by a refreshingly understated approach to the open-world genre.”
IGN – 7/10
Next InjeniReviewer Tristan Ogilvie emphasized the sense of adventure. Star Wars OutlawsWhile acknowledging its rough edges, Ogilvy says the game is consistently fun because of its crime story, which feels fresh and enjoyable, away from the “good vs. evil” battles of Jedi and Sith. He likens the approach to a Guy Ritchie film, which has a story that fits Kay and her crew well.
“(Star Wars Outlaws Much like the Millennium Falcon, it’s a barrel full of bolts held together by recycled parts, and while it’s easy to break, it’s capable of shaking your pleasure centers at its best. Star Wars “Fan hyperspace,” Ogilvy said. “A clever syndicate system lends real weight to almost every task you choose, and some of them have creative quest design that can often lead to some truly surprising blind spots.”
Press Start Australia – 6/10
James Wood Press Start Australia He was less complimentary, criticizing the game’s “frictionless” experience and the story’s lack of depth. While he praised the scope and scale of the game and the beautifully rendered world, Wood thought the narrative was “ridiculous” to the end, and called Kay Vess “the archetype of flawed”, with only a cursory look at her character.
“When I first played it Illegals Earlier this year I pointed out the potential pitfalls of trying to remain largely apolitical when writing about games that tackle this topic, but Illegals Wood says, “It pushes this tension to its limits through narrative choices, firmly establishing the aesthetic of the drama as an experience that demands it without having to bear the weight of a point of view or position.”
“Aside from the impressive aesthetic appeal and neat idea, Illegals It’s simply too unsure of itself to leave a lasting mark. If you’re a gamer who’s very keen on living out your villain fantasies, Illegals Oddly enough, I’m afraid to shoot first.”
Video Game Chronicles – 3 stars
Next VGCReviewer Jordan Middler argued: Star Wars Outlaws Despite a strong protagonist and interesting mechanics, it didn’t live up to its potential. Middler felt the game was too safe in its creative choices, although its strong writing and world building enhanced the overall gameplay experience.
“Star Wars Outlaws “It does a lot of things well, but it’s disappointing how few of those elements it achieves excellence,” Middler said. “You can play it all the way through. Star Wars Outlaws And have fun like we did, but you’ll be longing for a sequel that captures all the best parts and delivers as much as possible. For now, it’s a good first step into a wider galaxy, but it won’t make it onto any best-of lists. Star Wars “It’s the best adventure.”
