TerraStorm takes players to a universe where World War II ended in a completely different way. The world is almost completely destroyed and humanity is on the verge of extinction.
All of this is caused by a mysterious and powerful resource, Viribus, which the Nazis used as a weapon. Today, the developers at GameLoad have released the first trailer for the game, launching their Kickstarter campaign. The game will be released on PC, and backers will receive early access to a special demo that will be released on Steam later this year.
Terrastorm is a city-building game with survival mechanics set in a post-apocalyptic world 70 years after the end of World War II. The conflict ended in a completely different way than we know from history books. On this devastated planet, survivors fight for survival, placing their hopes on the Architect, the role of which the player will assume.
TerraStorm – Announcement Trailer
Viribus, a resource that was cursed on Earth, has found a new positive use after many years. It is now a powerful energy source that can be used to power self-supporting towers. TerrastormPlayers will take on the role of a leader responsible for building and managing these structures, which will become humanity’s last bastion. Refugees fighting for survival will come from all directions, and the architect’s job is to provide them with shelter. However, players must be prepared that not all lives can be saved, and that decisions made during gameplay will have consequences.
Players manage a massive tower where all life forms live. Each floor has different functions and capabilities, and each floor can be assigned a specialization. The possibilities are wide, from energy production buildings to factories, water pumps, and research centers. However, the needs of the community are constantly increasing, so players cannot rest on their laurels for too long. Over time, not only will the population increase, but the number of towers to manage will also increase, giving rise to opportunities to build trade routes between towers. All of this is to give humanity another chance.
The dangers that await the Architect come not only from the challenges of skillful management of people and resources, but also from environmental anomalies that can disrupt even the best-laid plans. It is worth noting that the player is not the only Architect chosen by ROSE Corp for the Project Towers program, and working with other selected Architects can also be challenging.
