Here are all the games that will be showcased at the PAX Aus 2024 Indie Showcase:
PAX Aus announced its 12 winners today. PAX 2024 Indie ShowcaseEach game is set to be highlighted in a key location on the event show floor. Six video games and six tabletop games have been selected to represent the best of Australian games development, each charting its own theme.
Max Mustard Toast Interactive’s VR platform experience was selected for a variety of reasons. Anti-Citizen: Red This game from Queebly Software has grown significantly from its original intrepid student game and will also be featured in the PAX Aus 2024 Indie Showcase. Rewinder 2 Another highlight from Misty Mountain Studio is the sequel to the wonderful and creepy adventure game. RewinderIt is based on an exploration of Chinese mythology.
“Game development is a long and arduous journey, so being recognized in this way is a huge boost for our small team,” said Felix Way, founder of Misty Mountain Studio, in a press release. “Being part of the PAX Aus Indie Showcase has been a great opportunity to showcase our project to an audience of thousands, and potentially millions.”
On the tabletop side, a variety of projects are represented. Fight with the spirit This game from Storybrewers Roleplaying is a light TTRPG that follows a team of athletes (of your choice) as they overcome adversity and triumph. trust It is a social reasoning game where you have to eliminate certain players based on observation and analysis.

PAX Aus 2024 Indie Showcase: Video Game Winners
- Max Mustard (Toast Interactive) – “Combining the timeless charm of classic third-person platforming with the best first-person power-ups ever created, players will explore immersive landscapes, encounter tough challenges, unexpected turns, and moral dilemmas as they make difficult decisions that shape the course of their journey.”
- Unterd (True Anomaly Entertainment) – “Finds players trapped in deep space with a mission to survive against all odds.”
- Anti-Citizen: Red (Queebly Software) – “Use bullet time, a variety of movement mechanics, and an arsenal of improvised weapons to outwit and outgun biker gangs and corporate police in a cyberpunk Australia under US occupation.”
- Uphill Inferno (Oppolyon Studios) – “Not for the faint of heart (or the rage-addled). Players must dribble, head, juggle, and kick their way through multiple layers of Inferno, as well as master precision platforming skills in a bid to rescue their recently deceased brother Vincent.”
- Rita (SporkTank) – “A charming word-based puzzle adventure where crossword puzzles meet a cozy RPG world.”
- Rewinder 2 (Misty Mountain Studio) – “An action-adventure game inspired by Eastern mythology, players explore cursed towns and dungeons, solve crimes, unlock new skills, and encounter all sorts of ghosts and monsters along the way.”
PAX Aus 2024 Indie Showcase: Tabletop Winners
- Fight with the spirit (Storybrewers Roleplaying) – “A sports drama RPG about a team growing together and fighting for their passion.”
- trust (Oracle Game) – “A thrilling mix of deduction and betrayal. In this card game, each player is given a secret role card whose goal is to eliminate a specific player.”
- Glade (Teafrog Games) – “A cozy board game where players create magical gardens around their ‘farms’ in an attempt to outscore their opponents.”
- A Worn Out Alliance (Button Fox) – “Invites players to the untamed streets of a sewer city. The sound of clashing weapons echoes and the smell of burning magic fills the alleyways.”
- cloud (Neural Forge) – “An abstract, highly strategic, and dynamic board game where the goal is to remove your opponent’s Nimbus pieces.”
- average! (Mean Games) – “A fast-paced card game full of fun, strategy, and disruption.”
