Galatasaray believe Scott McTominay is open to a move to Turkey and are currently in talks with Manchester United over a possible move.
The Red Devils have made a strong start to the transfer market, signing Joshua Zirkzee and Lenny Yoro, but Ineos are still a long way off.
The next priority area to fill is midfield, with the club already agreeing personal terms with Paris Saint-Germain’s Manuel Ugarte.
However, it has been reported that the Red Devils cannot complete the Uruguayan’s transfer until they sell the midfielder due to strict PSR regulations that Premier League clubs must adhere to.
With doubts over Casemiro’s fitness and interest in him waning in Saudi Arabia, McTominay has emerged as the most likely sale candidate.
One club interested in signing the Scotland international is Galatasaray, and according to Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, they could have a shot.
The reporter reports that the Super League champions have “not given up hope” of signing the 27-year-old as he is their “preferred solution” to their midfield problems.
There were doubts as to whether McTominay was ready to leave England, but Plettenberg reported that “Galatasaray have the feeling he would be open to a move to the club and it is a serious possibility”.
So Turkey have “started” talks with United, but the Red Devils’ current valuation of €30 million is too high for the Istanbul giants.

Galatasaray have already reportedly had their bid for the midfielder rejected, with his wages also being cited as a concern for the Turkish side.
The Premier League has also shown interest in the United Academy graduate, with Fulham having also rejected a £17m bid for him.
Despite this, there are concerns that the west London side will pass on a move for the 23-year-old, preferring Tottenham Hotspur’s Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.
Yesterday, there was news here that Tottenham were interested in McTominay.
United will be keen to find a quick solution as they do not want to see their summer plans delayed by a player sale like they have in previous summers.
