Holland America Line is offering travelers the chance to sail along the path of the 2026 solar eclipse.
The cruise line offers three trips that take the ship on a “totality route,” including a round-trip from Boston, which departs on July 18, 2026, with the 35-day Vikings: Solar Eclipse voyage.
The 28-day Scandinavian eclipse journey begins on July 25, departing from Dover or Rotterdam, England, with stops in Greenland and Scotland. The 13-day Mediterranean eclipse journey stops overnight in Barcelona and departs from Portugal on August 9.
The Viking voyage includes stops in Greenland, the Netherlands, Ireland, and Iceland. The travelers will also view a solar eclipse off the west coast of Iceland before returning to the United States.
Guests on the Scandinavian Eclipse Tour stop in Norway, Iceland, and elsewhere. They watch the eclipse off the northwest coast of Iceland.
The Mediterranean eclipse travels to France, Italy, Montenegro and Spain. Guests can enjoy the eclipse off the coast of Spain.
In addition to being considered a once-in-a-lifetime experience, the cruise features activities such as lectures and science experts, and guests are provided with eclipse glasses.
According to the National Solar Observatory, the expected solar eclipse on August 12, 2026, will be total, crossing the Arctic Ocean, Greenland, Iceland, the Atlantic Ocean, Portugal, and northern Spain.
Interested travelers can start booking from July 31, but prices have not yet been announced.
