Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines won the ‘Consumer Preference for Travel’ award at the inaugural Sailawaze Excellence Awards 2024.
The cruise line received the award at a gala event in central London last night. The gala was attended and hosted by Patrick Grant, presenter of the hit BBC show The Great British Sewing Bee.
More than 150 entries were submitted across the eight categories of the awards, which were selected as finalists by a panel of cruise industry experts. The final shortlist was then voted on by consumers.
Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines’ rural beekeeping tours in Lithuania were highlighted with this award. This tour allows guests to visit a family-run apiary, see how honey is produced, and learn more about village life and the cultural importance of bees by sampling a variety of honeys and locally produced meads.
“We are very proud to receive this award. This is a testament to all the work our Destination Experience teams onshore and onboard put into making each and every one of our guests’ trips an incredible and unforgettable experience,” said Martin Lister, Head of Product Development for Fred’s Itineraries. Olson Cruise Line. “We believe it’s all about people, giving our guests the opportunity to not only inform our guests about topics but also connect with trusted local people who are passionate about sharing personal stories and insights into real life. I believe it does. “This is the best way to engage our customers and the communities we visit.”
