America’s ‘immoral and inhumane’ policy toward Gaza has led veteran US diplomat Hala Lalit to resign from the State Department.
Hala Lalit worked as a political officer in the U.S. State Department for 18 years, eventually becoming a government spokeswoman. After realizing that U.S. policy toward Israel’s war in Gaza was making it “impossible” to promote the U.S., she says, “I realized I could no longer be a part of the[Biden]administration.”
Lalit tells host Steve Clemons that America’s main talking point is that it is “dehumanizing the Palestinian people” and ignoring their plight, following Israel’s main talking point. Lalit argues that America’s policies are destabilizing the region and not making Israel more secure.
