Chris Truax, an appellate lawyer who served as Southern California chairman for John McCain’s 2008 primary campaign, just wrote an op-ed declaring that vice presidential candidate J.D. Vance is in fact “worse than Trump.”
The crux of Truax’s argument is that while Trump has launched a “verbal assault on American democracy,” Vance does so more explicitly.
Vance argued that the 2020 presidential election was greatly tainted because the media helped elect President Biden by covering up stories about Hunter Biden’s laptop. As you can see, that’s a bridge too far.
“Donald Trump and JD Vance told us they would ignore their oath, the Constitution and the rule of law.” He described the latter as “much worse” than the former.
JD Vance is worse than Trump
The absurdity of it all is something to behold. As mentioned before, they usually wait for the next Super Bad Guy dub until they discard the previous version.
But Truax is going head-to-head with the notion that Vance is already “worse” about “democracy.” And since he worked on McCain’s primary campaign, you’d think he would know better.
Does anyone remember how the former senator treated him before he became an anti-Trump hero? Leading up to the 2008 election, Barack Obama’s supporters belittled McCain’s war record, mocked his injuries, ridiculed his age, and even compared him to a Nazi.
This is eight years after George W. Bush, the ‘next Hitler’, had his 2000 election campaign canceled due to rumors of an illegitimate child. Of course, McCain will end his career by saving Obamacare. Just like Hitler did.
People forget that even the toughest Republicans were portrayed as evil long before Trump came along. Some have attempted to link 2012 Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney with the Ku Klux Klan. He was a woman abuser who hated dogs and wanted to put black people back on chains.
George W. Bush and Dick Cheney were both labeled versions of Hitler. The latter was even called Darth Vader. This has been going on for 25 years.
JD Vance is just the next version. However, it is surprising that this information came from a former McCain aide.

DeSantis was even worse than Trump
Further supporting this claim is the fact that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, another man considered by many to be a ‘rational’ version of Trump, received the same treatment.
The media wasted no time comparing his campaign launch to the KKK.
MSNBC host Joy Reid argued that DeSantis is running a campaign that is so “fascist” that it makes Trump look benign by comparison. Stuart Stevens of the Lincoln Project, a former Romney adviser, also said DeSantis was “worse than Trump.”
Now so does Vance.
