Former England player Perry Freshwater will be in the top 14 at the end of this season, with French media suggesting he will replace Perpignan at Paul Gustard’s Stade Francais. reported.
L’Equipe reports that scrum coach Freshwater, a former Leicester frontman who won the 2009 Top 14 with Perpignan, is ready to leave the Catalan club for the Paris adventure.
Freshwater, who made his debut for England in 2005, began his playing career after helping English-speaking players settle at Perpignan, but has been in charge of the club’s scrum since 2016. But things will change next summer.

The L’Equipe report states: “Stade Francais has strengthened its staff for next season. According to reports, the Paris club has signed a contract with British technician Perry Freshwater, 51.
“The former England international will bring his knowledge of the scrum, just as he has done at Perpignan since 2016, following his playing career.
“Freshwater confirms his transition to management following the recent agreement reached with Stade Francais. The latter also announced on Monday the hiring of Mathieu Blin as a consultant until the end of the season to handle the scrum before Freshwater arrives.”
Stade, who reached the semi-finals last season after finishing second, have been in freefall this season and lost 19-46 at home to leaders Bordeaux last weekend, leaving them 13th in the 14-team league.
