Another analyst predicted that Apple would release a foldable device in 2026, claiming that Apple plans to release two products that year.
Rumors are swirling about Apple’s legendary flexible smartphone, the iPhone Fold, and the rumor mill believes the hardware could be released in 2026. Now, one analyst has doubled down on the release date, but says something else will be on sale, too.
According to Haitong Securities analyst Jeff Pu, BGRApple is expected to release a foldable device in 2026. This is consistent with other rumors about the iPhone Fold timeline, but it’s not the only one.
Pu suggests that Apple could be moving toward offering a foldable iPad alongside the iPhone Fold in the second half of 2026. Pu believes it could have been released earlier, but development and release were delayed due to display durability issues.
While discussing the flexible device, Pu also raises the prospect of the iPhone 17 Slim, a thinner version of the iPhone that could replace the Plus model. This model is thought to help drive sales of the 2025 generation of devices, in addition to Apple Intelligence development.
