The war in Gaza is one of the few conflicts that most civilians cannot escape. But in a few cases, sick or seriously injured patients were evacuated through a complex system controlled by Israel and managed by the United Nations. Times Magazine reporter Nicholas Casey joined a rare evacuation flight from Gaza to understand what the situation was like. It takes a while to leave.
