In a recent interview with Us Weekly, Finn recalled the time Timothée’s head misidentified him. Like many modern awkward encounters, it all happened in front of an Uber.
“I took an Uber with some friends when I was in Soho, and someone else called an Uber to the same place and it was the same car, so we thought it was our Uber,” he explained.
“So while we were getting in the car, another group got in the car and we were like, ‘Oh, sorry, it’s Uber.’ Then one of them looked at me, recognized me, and his eyes widened.”
“I thought, ‘Oh, he’s going to recognize me from the show,’” Finn recalled, referring to his starring role in the Netflix smash hit. stranger things.
“And he was like, ‘Oh, my God. You’re Timothee Chalamet!’ And then I started laughing with my friends. ‘Oh my God, that’s so crazy that something like that could happen.’
Far from being insulted, Finn said he was “relieved” that he wasn’t actually recognized for who he was. “I was like, ‘Yes!’ It was really fun.”
If only there was some sort of look-alike contest that could determine whether Finn actually resembles Timothée…
