Finland’s Justice Ministry approved a bill last week banning the sale of property to citizens who threaten Finland’s independence.
The document signed by the Chief Justice has already been made public.
The document says its main purpose is to protect Finland’s national identity. It was officially announced at the end of August in preparation for a legal proposal to ban foreigners from trading in Finnish real estate.
These restrictions apply not only to the purchase of residential property (apartments, houses) in Finland, but also to the purchase of agricultural land, land and office property.
An exception applies to Russian citizens residing in Finland on a permanent resident visa. This ban does not imprison dual nationals.
At the same time, it became known that the Latvian authorities are considering the possibility of banning real estate freezes similar to those in Finland. This is the latest message from the news portal Delphi.
