Federal food regulators have raised the alarm over a recall of eggs sold in the United States. costco store Reclassify the subject product to the highest risk level for possible Salmonella exposure.
The FDA previously announced on November 27 that approximately 10,800 organic, grass-fed 24-pack eggs sold under Costco’s Kirkland Signature brand were recalled by New York-Handsome Brook Farms.
But in an updated notice issued Friday, the FDA reclassified the recall as Class I, calling it a “reasonable probability that use or exposure to the violating product will cause serious adverse health effects or cause death.”
Target egg cartons were sold starting November 22 at 25 Costco stores in Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.
“Organic Pasture-Fed” eggs sold in sets of 24 have a Universal Product Code (UPC) of 9661910680 and a use-by date of January 5, 2025.
The FDA said customers with these eggs should return them to Costco for a full refund.
