Omar Marmoush can now officially be considered a Manchester City player.
It’s bad news for Liverpool, who are said to be keeping a close eye on the former Frankfurt star amid a very impressive 2024/25 campaign so far.
The Egypt international has scored 20 goals and provided 14 assists in 26 games (all competitions) this season.
It remains to be seen how renowned striker Erling Haaland will cope with the prospect of signing a massive nine-and-a-half-year contract.
But that doesn’t mean the 25-year-old lacks the necessary skills to potentially compliment his Norwegian team-mate.
Liverpool target Omar Marmoush completes transfer to Manchester City
Fabrizio Romano confirmed the news in question on his Personal X (formerly Twitter) account on Thursday morning.
The former Bundesliga hitman will join the Sky Blues in a €75m (£63.3m) deal after completing a medical in the January transfer window.

Pep Guardiola’s men have been busy doing business in the winter transfer window, having also completed the transfers of Vitor Reis and Abdukodir Khusanov from Palmeiras and Lens respectively.
In contrast, the Merseysiders are yet to see any progress on ongoing deals, while it looks unlikely that any new players will be available this month either.
What are Liverpool missing?
It’s worth pointing out that Marmoush needs to adapt his game at least a little, acknowledging that he’s not going to be the leader in the forward line.
That honor still belongs to 32-year-old Mo Salah, who is heading for glory and a personal record.
Nonetheless, there is no doubt that the current Man City player’s ball-handling abilities will be incredibly useful to his new employers.
Considering we struggled to break down successive low blocks against Nottingham Forest and Brentford, it would be a shame to miss out on such a mobile and technically astute footballer.
As Michael Wimmer puts it, Omar Marmoush has exceptional skills in the ‘space in between’ because he has ‘directional skills to change direction at the right moment and resolve situations with dynamism and creativity.’
