Battlestate Games has revealed that it is testing a new matchmaking system to significantly improve quality of life in Escape from Tarkov and EFT: Arena. This testing will take place on ETS servers, an early access testing environment limited to a specific user base.
It’s not clear when these changes will impact a wider audience, but they sound solid at first.
much needed change
Escape from Tarkov’s matchmaking system has long been the bane of gamers around the world. For example, during the biannual global reset event Escape from Tarkov Annihilation, queues to join a match can be incredibly long, with raids often taking 10, 15, or even longer minutes. there is.
Many users have dealt with random disconnects and glitches during the matchmaking process over the years. One of the issues that surfaced this year was the ‘Scav raid’ issue, where players hit endless loading screens during matchmaking.
Battlestate Games stated in a social media post:
The main goals of the new system are to reduce raid search times in Escape from Tarkov and matchmaking in EFT:Arena, as well as reduce the number of errors and disconnects during matchmaking.
Aside from matchmaking, another concern for users is the time it takes to load maps and loot pools and connect with other players before finally entering the raid. This is one of the reasons why so many people have moved into Escape from Tarkov’s PvE ecosystem. This is because loading into a PvE raid only takes 20-30 seconds total.
