Because there are people who want a quality gaming experience. Live service games are not a quality gaming experience, they are a waste of time.
The reason games like Helldivers are popular is because of casual gamers. It’s a time-wasting game that you pick up and play.
Shooting generic enemies while moving from planet to planet isn’t exactly quality gameplay.
The only reason it’s “fun” is because you can hang out with friends while you play (CO-OP). This breaks away from the typical, repetitive gameplay.
Unfortunately, Sony has to service these people. Because that’s where the money is.
