England coach Steve Borthwick has called up Northampton’s Alex Coles and Bath back-row Ted Hill to his squad for the opening match of the Autumn Nations series against New Zealand on Saturday.
Hill was rewarded after producing a man of the match performance in Bath’s Premiership win over Sale, while Coles continued to impress for Saints.
Sale fly-half George Ford has also been promoted to a regular squad, having previously been named as undergoing ‘rehabilitation’ following a quad injury sustained in early October.
Leicester forward Ollie Chessum has been left out of the squad as he awaits assessment of a knee injury sustained in the game against Saracens, while Charlie Ewels has also been left out to follow return-to-play protocols following Bath’s win at The Rec.
Sale wing Tom Roebuck has also been left out of the 36-man squad to prepare to play the All Blacks.
The match is the first of four matches for England at the Allianz Stadium in November, alongside Australia, South Africa and Japan.
