Miami Place Tua Tagovailoa On IR
Much of the talk surrounding Week 2 of the NFL has been around Miami quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and his injury, after he suffered a concerning concussion in the game against the Bills.
The Alabama star made a bold decision to run for yards on a third down against the Bills, and Tagovailoa was left in a worrying state as his head slammed into Damar Hamilin’s shoulder as he slid.

Tagovailoa is no stranger to head injuries, and the one he suffered against Buffalo was actually his third concussion since joining the league in 2020.
There was a lot of concern about the Miami quarterback immediately after the game, with fans suggesting Tua should retire for the sake of his own well-being.
As Week 3 approaches, the Dolphins have placed Tagovailoa on the injured list, and the star is expected to miss at least four games to protect himself.
Tagovailoa spoke to neurologists this week about his health and whether it was safe for him to continue playing football at the highest level.
Tua’s injury history is quite grim, having suffered one concussion while at Alabama, two more in 2022, one in 2023, and now one expected in 2024.
The Dolphins will start backup quarterback Skylar Thompson in Week 3 against the Seahawks, and he’s expected to take the reins for at least the next four games.
Thompson made his first league appearance since 2022 last weekend against the Bills, completing eight receptions for 80 yards. In 2022, Thompson had just one touchdown in seven appearances, but he was solid, passing for 534 yards.
