Former Indian national cricket team cricketer Dodda Ganesh has criticized the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for preparing a road-like pitch for the ongoing first Test between Pakistan and Bangladesh. The first match of the two-match Test series between the two teams will be played at the Rawalpindi International Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi.
The first Test between Shan Masood’s team and the Sri Lanka national cricket team is headed for a draw. This comes after both teams batted sensationally in the match, and with only a day left to play, neither team has even started their second innings.
The pitch at the Rawalpindi International Cricket Stadium offered nothing for the bowlers. The track in Rawalpindi looked overgrown with grass and in the opening game it was a boon for the fast bowlers as the home team batsmen struggled to cope with the new ball.
But after that first playing session, it didn’t help the pitchers, because the pitches seemed flat. It didn’t help the fast bowlers either, and after that, batting became easier, with both teams hitting well and scoring huge runs.
Saud Shakeel (141) and Mohammad Rizwan (171*) struck crucial centuries to get the hosts back in the game. The duo added 240 runs together and ensured their team made a crucial score, losing three wickets for just 16 runs and Saim Ayub (56) for 114 runs.
With this tremendous effort, the hosts managed a total of 448 runs. The Bangladesh national cricket team could only manage six wickets. Shoriful Islam and Hasan Mahmood took two wickets each, while Mehidy Hasan Miraj and Shakib Al Hasan got one wicket each.
Bangladesh also struggled a bit with the new ball and lost a few wickets early on. But after that, batting became easier. Shadman Islam played a crucial innings and finished with 93 runs. Mominul Haq also scored a fifty.
The best player of the team was Mushfiqur Rahim. Rahim played a brilliant innings of 191 runs and helped Bangladesh national cricket team to take the first innings lead. He was supported by Liton Das and Mehidy Hasan Miraj, who also scored fifties.
Dodda Ganesh slams Pakistan’s poor pitching in PAK vs BAN 1st Test
Dodda Ganesh was not impressed with the way things were unfolding. He criticized the Pakistan Cricket Board, saying that Test cricket in Pakistan is the most boring thing in the world. Dodda Ganesh also criticized the board for preparing poor pitches. He said on his Twitter account:
“Test cricket in Pakistan is probably the most boring thing cricket fans have ever seen. Why do they produce such boring pitches?”
Pakistan’s Test cricket is probably the most boring thing cricket fans have ever seen in their history. Why do they play such a dull pitch? #PAKvBAN
