Diogo Jota, along with Conor Bradley and Federico Chiesa, missed out on Liverpool team training ahead of the club’s trip to Germany to face RB Leipzig in the Champions League.
Twenty-one Liverpool players trained at Kirkby on Tuesday lunchtime as Arne Slot’s squad made their final preparations for their third European game of the season.
Jota, Bradley and Chiesa, as well as Harvey Elliott and Alisson, were all left out of Liverpool’s first-team squad as the Reds took to the AXA Training Center pitch.
The Portuguese forward in the slot attempted to continue the game but was sent off after 30 minutes of play against Chelsea for a collision with Tosin Adarabioyo, with Jota caught just beyond the half-way line and falling, landing directly on the forward’s ribcage.
“I’m going to be surprised when I get there on Wednesday,” Slott said after the game.
Chiesa picked up the injury after picking up a problem following the Reds’ win over Wolves on September 28 and has since missed three games for Liverpool and two in Italy.
Meanwhile, Bradley made two appearances for the Northern Ireland national team during the international break, but was not included in Sunday’s matchday squad and did not attend training on Tuesday.
Elliott is close to returning but not yet ready, while Alisson, as we know, is not out for a long period of time.
In more positive news, Alexis Mac Allister trained as usual after playing the final 15 minutes of the game against Chelsea over the weekend due to illness.
Wataru Endo also returned home from a trip to Japan due to illness and missed Sunday’s game as a result.
Kostas Tsimikas, who was sick, also appeared healthy after warming up in the refreshing October sunshine.
