The weather reporter revealed in an Instagram post on September 25 that she was traveling to Florida to cover Helen. She also provided a warning to residents of Tennessee, Georgia, western South Carolina and western North Carolina.
Ginger later posted a selfie video talking about how the storm was moving. She also warned neighboring countries to prepare. “I cannot emphasize enough that this is not just another Florida storm,” she said.
Ginger continued to go on Instagram Live and post videos to keep people updated on the storm. She live-streamed from St. Petersburg, showing how rough the water can be even at low tide. “The situation is only going to get worse,” she advised.
Later, Ginger began broadcasting live from her car just before the Category 4 storm made landfall. She also showed off the radar before advising cities that would be affected by the hurricane. “I feel broken.” she said
