The Baltimore Ravens needed just one offensive play to find the end zone against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday night, and franchise history was made in the process.
After Josh Allen and the Bills’ blistering offense forced a punt on the game’s first drive, Lamar Jackson and his Ravens offense were set up at their own 13-yard line.
On the first snap, Jackson turned around and handed it to his star running back Derrick Henry, who immediately saw his favorite hole on the right side of the line.

Thanks to a perfect block from fullback Patrick Ricard, Henry quickly got up to the second level and saw some sunlight as he turned the burner on the right sideline.
With Bills defenders chasing him, Henry kept his pace and looked up at the videoboard in front of him to see where the Buffalo players were. But they couldn’t keep up as Henry walked into the end zone for an 87-yard touchdown on the Ravens’ first play from scrimmage on home turf.

Henry, who entered the game with the league’s most rushing touchdown by a game on 4th-and-3, not only put his team up 7-0, but also made Ravens history with an 87-yarder, the longest in franchise history.
“King Henry” was a huge pickup for Baltimore this offseason. That’s because the former Tennessee Titans running back hit the free agent market as one of the top options for any team to bid on.
Henry eventually signed a two-year contract worth up to $16 million with Baltimore.
With Jackson already such a rushing threat when he has the ball in his hands, Henry added that despite the Ravens entering this game with a 1-2 record on the year, it was as advertised.
