New Delhi: T20 World Cup The title-winning Indian cricket team is expected to arrive in the capital early on Thursday morning, with police putting in place extensive security measures both at the airport and at the hotels where the team will stay before heading to Mumbai.
Security arrangements are complete from IGI Airport to ITC Maurya Hotel.
The team is expected to land on a charter flight from Grantley Adams International Airport in Barbados at approximately 6 a.m.
A senior police official said the airport plans to provide a convoy of armed police officers.
Fans are expected to gather along the tour route and outside hotels to celebrate the team’s arrival.
Accordingly, an appropriate number of police officers will be deployed from the airport to the hotel.
At least two companies of paramilitary forces will be deployed around the hotel and the central Delhi route.
