Lucknow Super Giants won the toss and lost . DC lost Jake Fraser-McGurk for a duck as they attempted a big hit in the first over. Abishek Porel and Shai Hope quickly shifted the momentum with some incredible stroke play. The pair were aggressive against the pacers, giving DC a strong start in the Powerplay. Porel reached his half-century as Hope departed on 38 after a strong cameo. After a quiet moment against the spinners, Porel’s attempt to accelerate led to a dismissal.

Pant’s innings ended as he attempted to increase the scoring rate in a well-crafted innings of 33. Stubbs played a clutch innings and helped DC dominate the slog over, scoring a quickfire fifty off just 22 deliveries. Fifties from Tristan Stubbs and Abishek Porel helped DC overcome a slowdown in the middle-order to reach 208/4.
Ishant Sharma rained hell on the LSG ranks, scalping both openers within the first three overs and continuing his spell, dismissing Deepak Hooda for a duck as LSG slipped to an abysmal 44-4. Nicholas Pooran and Arshad Khan’s counter-attacking fifties looked like a resurgence, but LSG ultimately left too much to chase.
